• BYOD - Bring Your Own Device - and a required SSL Certificate

    If you decide to use Almond-Bancroft's Public WiFi with your personal WiFi device(s), you will need to import an SSL Certificate into the web browser(s) you use on your personal WiFi device.  This SSL Certificate will allow proper communication between your personal WiFi device and the district's Web Content Filter for specific sites now using HTTPS (encrytped data transfer) such as google.com  This is necessary to meet federal and state "regulations" regarding Internet Safety.

    Below you will find instructions for importing this SSL certificate into each of three "popular" web browsers:  Chrome, Firefox, and Internet Explorer/Edge.

  • How to Import this SSL Certificate into Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, and/or Microsoft Internet Explorer/Edge:

    • Open this webpage using the Google Chrome web browser
    • Click here to download and save the iboss2.abschools.k12.wi.us.crt file
    • Click the downloaded file to Open it and view the Certificate
    • Click the Install Certificate... button on the General tab of the Certificate window which appears
    • Select/Check Local Machine for the Store Location
    • Click the Next button
    • Select/Check Place all certificates in the following store option (second option)
    • Click the Browse... button
    • Select/Click Trusted Root Certificate Authorities on the list (second item)
    • Click the OK button
    • Click the Next button
    • Click the Finish button
    • Click the OK button
    • Click the OK button
