6th Grade Social Studies

Ancient Civilizations


  • This course aims to highlight civilizations ranging from Ancient Mesopotamia to the Medieval Times through inquiry and project-based learning. Students will accomplish a plethora of in-class and out of class assignments and projects to further their understanding of the growth and impact these early civilizations have on life today.

     

7th Grade Social Studies

Government, Economics, Psychology


  • This course is structured around 3 important areas of study in the Social Studies field. The year will begin with a focus on Government and Civics. Students will identify how to be a valued member of a community through in depth study of the United States Constitution. This will then be followed by an Economics unit, primarily focusing on Personal Finance. The year will finish with a look into Psychology and understanding a basic view into the mind. 

     

8th Grade Social Studies

U.S. History


  • This course is structured around the progressive growth of the United States. Beginning prior to the discovery of America, students will dive into the climate of the world and how America became the location of settlements and colonies in the 13th century. The course will progress through major American events, ultimately reaching the climax of the American Civil War. Through inquiry and investigation, students will make connections to the condition of the United States today.
